Police Raid Insurgents Camps in Anambra, Recover Weapons
The Joint Security of the Anambra State Police Command raided the forests of Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of the State and found scattered camps of the insurgents.
The Joint Security of the Anambra State Police Command raided the forests of Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of the State and found scattered camps of the insurgents.

According to SP Ikenga Tochukwu on Saturday, the raid in continuation of an attempt to rid the State of criminals having previously destroyed two such camps, one in Ogbunka, Orumba South LGA and the other in Achalla, Awka North LGA.
It was gathered that the criminals, on sighting the police on Friday fled the scene. But the operatives have increased search for insurgent camps to rescue abducted victims, and recover firearms and stolen vehicles in their possession.

Meanwhile, six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were already primed for attacks and two Walkie Talkies were recovered from the Camps.
“Also recovered were substantial food and grocery supplies. All the camps were subsequently destroyed to deny the insurgents bases for launching attacks.”
