“If God Hadn’t Intervened, $1 Could Have Been N10,000” – Adeboye
Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), stated that divine intervention prevented the Naira from dramatically declining to N10,000 per $1.
Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), stated that divine intervention prevented the Naira from dramatically declining to N10,000 per $1.

“If God hadn’t intervened, $1 could have been worth N10,000 by now. This illustrates the importance of our prayers,” he said during the Special Holy Ghost Congress in Abuja.
Adeboye, who has faced criticism for his views on tithing, emphasized that Nigeria’s financial struggles are primarily linked to its dependency on fuel imports, despite the country possessing substantial oil resources.
He pointed out that billions of naira have been invested in refineries, many of which remain non-operational, resulting in a continued reliance on imported fuel.

“We need help—not human help, but divine help,” he asserted.
“Before the current president took office, we recognized that our financial issues stemmed from importing petrol. Despite having oil, we persistently imported petrol and squandered billions on ineffective refineries.
“When the president cancelled the subsidy on petrol imports, those who had benefited from it became upset, which created further complications.”
The respected pastor noted that the removal of fuel subsidies angered those who profited from the previous system and contributed to ongoing economic challenges. He expressed gratitude that others joined him in prayer during this time.
