Two suspects, Micheal Chinweze, also known as Small, and Mmesoma Agba, were arrested by a Joint Security Team composed of police officers from Oko Divisional Headquarters and AVG Amaokpala on January 24, 2025, at 4:54 PM. The arrest was made following an intelligence-driven investigation.

According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects, aged 20 and 25 and hailing from Iwollo, Eziagu LGA of Enugu State, and Enugwu-Nanka, respectively, were found in possession of a pump-action gun, a mobile phone, a black handbag, and two small glasses suspected to be used for inhaling hard drugs.

This arrest follows an incident reported on January 22, 2025, when the suspects, along with another individual who remains at large, allegedly robbed a victim at gunpoint near Oko Community Hospital. The items taken during this robbery included a red Cub motorcycle (Registration No: WER 137 GV), valued at 1,300,000 Naira, a bag containing a Techno mobile phone, an ATM card, and 38,000 Naira in cash, which the victim claimed she had earned from her daily business at the shop.
During interrogation, Micheal admitted to the crime, revealing that he had stolen the gun from a security post at a hotel in Amaokpala. Preliminary information also indicates that Mmesoma’s first husband, a mother of two, was previously killed by police during a gun battle with gang members mentioned in the investigation.
