NAFDAC Discovers Aba Shop That Packages Unregistered Drugs

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration NAFDAC has discovered a shop at Ekumi Plaza in Ariaria market, Aba, Abia State that packages and sells unregistered and falsified drugs to unsuspecting buyers.

Sharing the information on X on Friday, it said the drugs include contraceptives like Postinor-2, counterfeit Ampiclox GSK from India, Vega Plus 100, Claratem-QS, and Maloxine Tablets.

It shared that the enforcement agency also found over ₦5 million in the shop owner’s table drawers.

But when the Department of State Service, codenamed DSS contacted the owner of the shop, he denied any connection to the shop.

Further investigations revealed the presence of Methamphetamine (mkpuru mmiri) in the shop and other locations within the plaza.
