The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revoked the land lease belonging to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory due to the party’s failure to pay ground rent for the past 20 years.

In a letter signed by Chijioke Nwankwoeze, the Director of Land Administration, it was stated that the ground rent for the property located at Plot 243, Central Area, Cadastral Zone A00, Abuja, covers the period from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025.

The letter emphasized that this action was taken after multiple reminders were issued to allottees of land in the FCT regarding the payment of ground rent and outstanding bills for their properties.
It also noted that the land has now been reverted to the administration of the Federal Capital Territory, which will take immediate possession of it.
