Dangote Petroleum Refinery has suspended the sale of Petroleum Products in Naira to avoid a mismatch of proceeds and purchase of crude oil currently dominated by US dollars.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has suspended the sale of Petroleum Products in Naira to avoid a mismatch of proceeds and purchase of crude oil currently dominated by US dollars.

In a letter on March 19, 2025, it said that the sale of its petroleum products in Naira has exceeded the value of Naira-denominated crude, and so it plans to take a temporary pulse to adjust its sales currency to align with its procurement currency.

It further assured Nigerians that it will continue sale of Petroleum Products in Naira as soon as it receives Naira-denominated crude cargoes from NNPC.
It also debunked the report of ticketing fraud as a reason for stopping the sale but urged the people to disregard the report as its system is robust and has no issues.
