NYSC DG Announces Timeline for N77,000 Allowance
Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has said corps members will receive a monthly allowance of N77,000 from March 2025, days after a young youth corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye lamented on the N33,000 allowance given to each corner despite the economic crisis in the country.
Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has said corps members will receive a monthly allowance of N77,000 from March 2025, days after a young youth corper Ushie Rita Uguamaye lamented on the N33,000 allowance given to each corner despite the economic crisis in the country.

“With effect from March, you are going to receive the sum of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. NYSC is good at record-keeping and l can assure you that your money will be paid. The Nation and the Scheme appreciate you”, he said.
Speaking on Thursday while interacting with corps members in Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja, Brigadier General Nafiu assured the scheme of the readiness of the Federal Government to ensure their well-being.

He further applauded the corpers for their selfless service to the nation and appreciated the founding father of the Scheme for conceiving the vision while advocating that all should rally around the NYSC to fulfil its mandate.
On behalf of her colleagues at Garki Zone, serving corps member Zaka Deborah Alheri FC/24A/5831 praised the Director General for his diligent efforts in ensuring the payment of their increased monthly allowance.
