A joint security team consisting of the Police, Military, and Isiala Vigilante rescued a blindfolded kidnap victim whose hands and legs were bound, and whose mouth was sealed.

The rescue took place on March 24, 2025. After being successfully freed, the victim received first aid and was debriefed by Police operatives.
According to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Thursday, the team intercepted a black shuttle bus with registration number RSH 255MS that was driving suspiciously. When the team attempted to stop the vehicle, the armed occupants opened fire on them.

During the ensuing gunfight, the Joint Security team managed to incapacitate one of the armed assailants, while four others abandoned the shuttle bus and fled into a nearby bush with varying degrees of bullet wounds.
The vehicle was recovered, and the Joint Security team is continuing operations in the area to apprehend the individuals who escaped.
The Command urges all private and public hospitals to admit anyone presenting with bullet wounds or injuries of a suspicious nature and to report such cases to the nearest Police Station.
