Just-In: Cable Thief Electrocuted in Abia
A man named Emeka Chikere was electrocuted while attempting to steal a cable from an electric transformer in Obohia Ibere, located in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, on Thursday.
A man named Emeka Chikere was electrocuted while attempting to steal a cable from an electric transformer in Obohia Ibere, located in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State, on Thursday.

According to Kelvin Ikechukwu Okorie, the community has been experiencing power failures for a long time.


On Thursday, while Mr. Chikere was at the transformer stealing the cable, electricity was restored, and he was immediately electrocuted.
Residents discovered his lifeless body on Friday as preparations were being made to take him to a mortuary.
