Clifford University has indefinitely suspended Mr Obioma Nwogwugwu, the Law Faculty officer, for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old first-year student of the Department, Miss Nwokoma Miracle Chinenye.

In a letter dated 29th May 2025, the University said the suspended lecturer will face a Staff Disciplinary Committee and stated that the results of the students are voted by the Senate and domiciled in the Registry and advised the students to meet the Registry for resolution.

Meanwhile, Ochiegbu Marvelous of Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation Abia State Chapter on Friday urged the University to disclose the identities of the panellist, arguing that it is inappropriate for the investigation to proceed in isolation without the proper knowledge of the representative of the victim.

He also revealed that he has more evidence against the accused to tender to the panel.

He wrote; Clifford University “It is essential that the school discloses the identities of the panel members and investigators to us, the student’s representatives ( Behind Bars Human Rights Foundation Abia State Chapter)

For fairness and accountability, we must be included in the process and allowed to present our evidence with full knowledge of who is conducting the inquiry. Proceeding without this transparency undermines both due process and trust.”

It is inappropriate for the investigation to proceed in isolation without our participation or knowledge.

I have enough evidence to tender against Mr Obioma the faculty officer who sexually harassed the 17year old law student of Clifford University Isialangwa Abia state

Thanks in anticipation
