Police Recover Gun, Ammunition, Laptops Linked to Kidnap, Murder Suspect
The discovery was made on June 3, 2025, following a lead provided by 26-year-old suspect Ebuka Orizu, who is currently in police custody in connection with a recent kidnap and murder case.
Police operatives from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Anambra State Police Command have recovered a cache of incriminating items, including a locally made Beretta pistol, eleven live cartridges, and two laptops, in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

The discovery was made on June 3, 2025, following a lead provided by 26-year-old suspect Ebuka Orizu, who is currently in police custody in connection with a recent kidnap and murder case.
Acting on credible intelligence, RRS officers were able to trace and recover the items from a location allegedly linked to the suspect.

According to preliminary investigations, Orizu is believed to be a member of a criminal gang that has been operating in Oraifite and surrounding communities. Police say efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to public safety and ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks across the state.
“The Command remains resolute in its mission to ensure the safety of lives and property and will continue to work tirelessly to bring all those involved in criminal activities to justice,” SP Ikenga said.
Investigations are ongoing.
