Police Recover Lifeless Body of Kidnapped Victim
The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of the lifeless body of a kidnapped victim, Mr. Ozor Augustine Chido, in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area. The grim discovery was made in the early hours of June 23, 2025, near the victim’s piggery farm, where he was reportedly abducted on June 19.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga on Friday, efforts were underway to rescue Mr. Chido when officers found his body at the same location he had been abducted. The body has since been deposited at the morgue.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam Orutugu, expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and the wider Nimo community. He condemned the act and assured the public that the Command will intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible.
“This is a heartbreaking loss, and we will leave no stone unturned in unmasking and bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice,” CP Orutugu said.
The police said investigations are ongoing and urged members of the public with credible information to assist the Command in its efforts to bring the suspects to book.
Further updates on the case will be provided as investigations progress.
