Man Kills Girlfriend Over N500,000 Loan from Opay

It was gathered that the incident happened on the 21st of July, 2025 at Ogombo, Ajah area of Lagos.

According to the viral video, Goodnews ran a POS business and borrowed money from Opay to build up her business, but her boyfriend requested it.

When she refused, the boyfriend, who is a barber and from Akwa Ibom State, called his friends after he made sure that Opay had credited Goodnews. They stole the money, killed her and shared it among themselves. He continued living his life nothing was amiss.

On the 25th, the suspect reported to the Police Station that the deceased, with whom he was living, had been missing. And shortly afterwards, a body was found floating in the river near the abandoned compound where they threw her.

The security agencies and area boys quickly moved to arrest the suspect. When the friends got wind of the arrest and saw the area boys, they started running with one shouting that ‘he was not among. That he only put the money in his account to change it.’ That tipped off the security agencies who arrested all of them.

The Police further raided the area, but most of the boys had already run away.
