Ambush! Newlywed Man, Friend Brutally Murdered

Tragedy struck in Benue State on Monday, August 4, when a newlywed man, Jonathan Uko Ogah, and his close friend, Gabriel Ogoda, were brutally murdered by unidentified gunmen along the Oju-Awarji road in the Ullam axis of Gwer East Local Government Area.

The two men were reportedly returning from Oju Local Government Area when they were ambushed by armed assailants in the early hours of the day. Both victims were shot and killed at the scene.

Jonathan Ogah had just celebrated his wedding two days earlier, marking what should have been the beginning of a new chapter in his life. His friend, Gabriel Ogoda, was described by locals as a hardworking man struggling to support his family, whom he had recently relocated to Makurdi in search of a better life.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and as of the time of this report, no arrests have been made. Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
