Enough is Enough! A Call for Accountability from EFCC – Otunba Babatunde Olushola
By Otunba Babatunde Olushola Senbanjo (BOS)

Since the inception of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigerian people have been sold the dream of a corruption-free society a system where looters are brought to justice and stolen wealth is returned to the public. But what have we truly gained?
For years, the EFCC has announced high-profile seizures: billions of naira recovered, properties confiscated, cars, lands, luxury items yet the public has seen NOTHING. Where are these assets today? Who is benefiting from them? To date, there has been no transparent, detailed accounting or public auction of these items. Nigerians are left in the dark, while corruption seemingly thrives within the very system designed to fight it.
Worse still, the EFCC has turned a blind eye to political favouritism. Countless files and investigations involving APC party leaders and other politically connected individuals have mysteriously disappeared or stalled. No updates. No prosecutions. No justice.
We ask again: Is this still a democracy or a disguised dictatorship? How can one claim to fight corruption when only opposition voices are targeted, while allies in power remain untouchable?
We are tired of selective justice, tired of media stunts, tired of an agency that appears more interested in headlines than results. Nigerians deserve a transparent, accountable, and impartial anti-corruption body. Anything less is a betrayal of the people.
We demand:
1. A full public audit of all seizures and recoveries since the EFCC’s creation.
2. Transparency on all auctioned or unaccounted properties and assets.
3. Updates on the status of all pending corruption cases including those involving APC leaders.
4. An end to selective prosecution and media show trials.
Corruption cannot be fought by becoming corrupt. The EFCC must rise above partisanship or risk losing every last drop of public trust.
We will not be silent. We will not be deceived. We demand accountability now.
