Just-In: Amb. Ilya Damagum Sworn in As Substantive PDP National Chairman
In accordance with the constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which states that a substantive National Chairman will lead the party to an elective convention, the 102nd NEC of the PDP has approved the appointment of Ambassador Ilya Damagum as National Chairman and he has been sworn in immediately.
The NEC also ratified the zoning of the 2027 presidency to the South based on the recommendation of the zoning committee.
NEC also approved the venue: Ibandan, Oyo State and date: 15th/16th, November, 2025 for the elective National convention
In another vein, NEC approved that all National Working Committee positions of the party continue to remain in the zone, as currently constituted.
