NAFDAC Shuts Down Illegal Herbal Medicine Factory
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed an illegal herbal medicine manufacturing facility located in Mararaba Jos, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Acting on credible intelligence, NAFDAC operatives raided the site and uncovered a range of substandard and unhygienic production equipment. The agency confirmed that the facility posed significant risks to public health, as the safety, quality, and efficacy of its products could not be assured.
Products bearing the brand name SHIFA’UNNUR, estimated to be worth ₦5 million, were confiscated during the operation and have been marked for destruction.
The premises have been sealed pending the outcome of further investigations.
