‘Afikpo Chic’ Declares Bid for House of Representatives Seat
Maria Nwachi, a former state lawmaker turned popular blogger widely known as “Afikpo Chic,” has officially announced her intention to contest for the Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.
Nwachi, who previously served in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, representing the Afikpo North East Constituency from 2015 to 2019 was initially elected on the platform of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) and later defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Known for her outspoken views and grassroots engagement through her blog, Afikpo Chic has built a loyal following, particularly among young people and women.
