Ebola: FAAN Tightens Airport Surveillance, Says Suspected Cases Will Be Isolated
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured the travelling public that stringent measures have been put in place across Nigerian airports to prevent the outbreak and spread of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in the country.

FAAN stated that, in collaboration with Port Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), it has strengthened surveillance and health safety protocols at all international airports, including the deployment of screening equipment and the training of health personnel to monitor passengers arriving from affected regions.
According to the statement by Henry Agbebire, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection on Wednesday, passengers screened for symptoms associated with Ebola will be isolated.
FAAN also emphasised that airport staff have undergone regular sensitisation and emergency response training to improve preparedness and maintain safety standards within airport environments.
Though there is no case of Ebola so far in the country, the authority urged passengers and airport users to cooperate with health officials by complying with screening procedures and promptly reporting any symptoms associated with Ebola.
