APC Gives Nkwonta, OUK 14-Day Ultimatum Over Alleged Anti-Party Conduct

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State has issued a 14-day ultimatum to Hon. Chris Nkwonta and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to apologise for statements and actions the party says could threaten its unity and undermine its leadership.

The ultimatum was made known by the State Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, during a press conference in Abia State.

Aguoru said the state chapter had commenced disciplinary measures against certain members over what it described as conduct inconsistent with the principles and interests of the party.

He explained that the move was aimed at restoring discipline, protecting the integrity of the APC and ensuring greater cohesion among its members ahead of future political engagements.

According to him, the party would not tolerate actions or public comments that could create division or damage its reputation, stressing that members with grievances were expected to pursue them through established internal channels.

Addressing the controversy surrounding Nkwonta and other members, Aguoru said that personal disagreements could not justify public statements or activities that could weaken the party.

He warned that those affected must tender their apologies within 14 days or risk further disciplinary action.

The spokesman added that the party’s Disciplinary Committee would review cases where necessary and recommend sanctions in accordance with the APC constitution and other applicable regulations.

Despite the internal disputes, Aguoru maintained that the APC remained “strong, united and very formidable” across Abia State, with structures operating at ward and polling-unit levels.

He further claimed that the party’s membership had grown to approximately 200,000, describing the APC as the largest political party in the state.

Aguoru reiterated the Abia APC leadership’s commitment to enforcing discipline, strengthening its grassroots structures, and maintaining unity among members, warning that the party would take necessary steps against conduct deemed detrimental to its collective interests.
