Tinubu Leads APC 2027 Campaign Council as Yari Emerges DG, Uzodimma Secretary
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, with former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, appointed Director-General.

The campaign council, whose composition was released by the Presidency on Saturday, August 22, 2026, named Tinubu as Chairman and Shettima as Vice Chairman, while APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as Vice Chairman.
The statement, signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and dated August 22, 2026, revealed that Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was appointed Secretary, while APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary, respectively.
The council will be guided by a body of elder statesmen comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
The party also appointed a team of senior Deputy Directors-General to oversee key areas of the campaign.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio was named Deputy Director-General (South I), while Senator Bamidele Opeyemi will serve as Deputy Director-General (South II).
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni was appointed Deputy Director-General (North I), with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, as Deputy Director-General (North II), and Senator Jibril Barau as Deputy Director-General (North III).
Other senior appointments are Senator Adams Oshiomhole as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation; Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Deputy Director-General for Administration; Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring; Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari as Deputy Director-General for Logistics and Operations; Hon. Aminu Bello Masari as Deputy Director-General for Parliamentary Mobilisation; and Engr. David Umahi as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure, Mobilisation and Sensitisation.
Faleke, who played a pivotal role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, will coordinate the election planning, coordination and monitoring directorate.
He will work with Senator Olushola Adeyeye as Zonal Director for the South-West; Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South; Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East; Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West; Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central; and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.
Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori were appointed secretaries of the election planning directorate.
The APC also appointed six zonal campaign coordinators for the 2027 presidential campaign.
They are Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for the North-West; Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the South-West; Niger State Governor Umar Bago for the North-Central; Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu for the South-South; Enugu State Governor Ndubuisi Mbah for the South-East; and Senator Modu Sheriff for the North-East.
In the legal directorate, Muiz Adeyemi Banire will serve as Director, assisted by Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as Deputy Directors.
Other members of the legal team are Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi; former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema; Worgu Boms; and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.
For media and strategic communication, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, will serve as Coordinating Director, working with Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka were appointed Coordinating Deputy Directors in the media directorate.
Abdulaziz AbdulAziz, Temitope Ajayi, Arabinrin Aderonke and Frederick Nwabufor will serve as Coordinating Secretaries.
Segun Dada will return as Director of New Media, a position he held during the 2022/2023 campaign, while Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary, New Media.
The APC has also named five presidential campaign spokespersons, with Dele Alake serving as Lead Spokesperson. Others are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
The party is also expected to mobilise substantial resources for the campaign through its fundraising structure.
President Tinubu, while charging members of the council to work tirelessly towards victory in the January 2027 elections, urged the various directorates to reach out to party members who may not have been formally listed but are willing to contribute to the campaign.
The President said the administration had delivered on its campaign promises and urged the campaign council to communicate its achievements to Nigerians.
“We have delivered on our campaign promises and set our country on a path of economic progress,” Tinubu said.
He added: “We are definitely out of the dark tunnel and are now at the cusp of reaping the benefits of a prosperous economy that will benefit all Nigerians.”
According to the President, the campaign should “confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation,” while urging APC members to defeat opposition forces seeking to return the country to what he described as the past.
