Isuikwuato Traditional Rulers Deny Endorsing Orji Kalu

The Isuikwuato Traditional Rulers Advisory Council has denied reports that it endorsed Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for any political office, describing the alleged endorsement as false and misleading.

In a press statement dated 26 September 2026, the council, through its Public Relations Officer, HRH Eze Engr. Okey A. Udeh, said it had not authorised any individual or group to issue an endorsement on its behalf.

The council stated that it had “at no time, in any meeting, gathering, or forum” endorsed Kalu for any political office or interest.

It further said no authorisation was given to anyone to make such an announcement in the name of the traditional institution.

According to the statement, the publication claiming that the council endorsed Kalu was a “misrepresentation” of the traditional institution’s position and should be disregarded by members of the public.

The council also reaffirmed its non-partisan status, stressing that it serves as a father to all and does not engage in partisan endorsements of politicians, political parties, or aspirants.

“The Traditional Rulers Advisory Council remains a non-partisan institution and father to all. We do not engage in partisan endorsement of any politician, political party, or aspirant,” the statement said.

The council urged the public to disregard what it described as fake news, alleging that the report was intended to drag the traditional institution into partisan politics.

It also appealed to media practitioners to verify information directly with the council before publishing reports concerning its activities or positions.

Recall that on Thursday, 24 September 2026, after a meeting between Senator Kalu and traditional rulers in Isuikwuato, there was a report that traditional rulers endorsed Senator Kalu’s return to the Senate in 2027.

They maintained that no formal endorsement was issued by the Isuikwuato Traditional Rulers Advisory Council.
