2027: Hunger, Not Political Permutations, Will Defeat Tinubu – Dele Momodu

Dele Momodu, Deputy Director-General, Media and Communications of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign, has said no political permutation can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election if Nigerians are satisfied with their living conditions.

Momodu, speaking on Politics Today, said the major factor that would determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election would be the economic condition of Nigerians.

“There is no permutation that will beat hunger. That is the truth. Bola Tinubu can bring all the governors in the world, and I just told you we saw it in Osun,” he said.

The ADC campaign spokesman also criticised what he described as a lack of sincerity within the Tinubu administration, alleging that government officials managing the economy were telling the President only what they believed he wanted to hear.

“What is lacking in this government is that sincerity. Everything is about one man. The people who are running our economy today have to tell Nigerians only what they think the president wants to hear. They are not telling him the truth, and when tomorrow comes, he will realise it,” Momodu said.

Reacting to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s comments on the need for energy and stamina in a presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 election, Momodu said presidential leadership requires more than physical strength.

“The job of a president is not to be a high jumper or long jumper. It is to think; it is to have clear vision; it is to have experience; it is to have exposure and be tolerant,” he said.

According to Momodu, effective leadership is fundamentally about the ability to manage people and resources, rather than physical stamina.

“Leadership is about managing people and resources,” he added.
