Virginia Pastor Dies of Coronavirus After Refusing to Stop Church Services

The founder of the New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield, Bishop Gerald Glenn has died from Coronavirus after refusing to stop church services.

The Virginia Pastor preached in March that he will never stop preaching unless ‘he’s in jail or the hospital’ just few days before he became sick.

He defied the lockdown rules and showed off how packed his church was with people on March 22, five days after Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) had urged people to “avoid non-essential gatherings of more than 10 people,” Glenn told his congregation that “I firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus.

You can quote me anywhere. I am essential,” he said of remaining open, adding, “I’m a preacher — I talk to God!,” he said.

His church announced on Sunday that the pastor had died a week after being diagnosed with COVID-19. His wife, Marcietia Glenn, is also sick with the bug. Their daughter is now urging everyone to stay home.
