Black Woman, Letitia James Sworn In As First Black Attorney General In New York
History was made again as Letitia James was sworn-in as the first Black Attorney General of the state of New York on Monday.

A Democrat, James was sworn into office during a ceremony at the state capitol in Albany. She made history by not only being the state’s first Black attorney general but also, the first woman to ever be elected to the office, reports Essence.

James had in the past bashed President Donald Trump over alleged divisive tendencies. She said Trump found it hard to “go a day without threatening our fundamental rights, can’t go a day without threatening the rights of immigrants, can’t go a day without dividing us.”
