PDP Leadership Reclaims Wadata Plaza from Wike’s Camp
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership on Tuesday regained control of its national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, from the faction aligned with the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The tense confrontation led to the postponement of a scheduled meeting to Wednesday, 19th November 2025.

National Chairman Tanimu Turaki (SAN), addressing journalists after the takeover, said the leadership was forced to shift the meeting to Wednesday following “incidents caused by those who are the enemies of progress, the enemies of democracy.”
He revealed that misleading social media fliers had been circulated by individuals “who are no longer members of the party,” falsely announcing a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at the secretariat.
Turaki commended the Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police for fulfilling his promise to ensure access into Wadata Plaza, saying the security intervention allowed the party’s authentic leadership to resume control of the facility.
Flanked by Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Turaki explained that the decision to postpone the meeting was taken after assessing the unrest caused by the rival faction.
Governor Makinde arrived at the secretariat with the newly elected National Secretary, Taofeek Arapaja. Meanwhile, the suspension of Nyesom Wike remains in place, with Samuel Anyanwu, the embattled National Secretary who insists that his tenure is valid until December 8, 2025.
