Akpabio Orders Distribution of Gazetted Tax Reform Acts to Senators to End Confusion
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has directed the immediate distribution of officially gazetted copies of Nigeria’s newly signed Tax Reform Acts to all senators, in a bid to address confusion and curb the circulation of unauthorised versions of the legislation.

Akpabio gave the directive during plenary on Wednesday, announcing that the four tax reform laws recently assented to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have now been fully certified and gazetted by the Clerk of the National Assembly.
He stressed that each senator must personally obtain an authentic copy of the laws from the Clerk of the Senate, warning against reliance on unofficial documents that may have been altered or inaccurately reproduced.
According to the Senate President, the decision followed reports that multiple versions of the tax reform documents were in circulation, some of which did not reflect the resolutions duly passed by the National Assembly.
Akpabio explained that the gazetted copies represent the final and harmonised outcome of legislative deliberations by both chambers, including agreements reached by the joint conference committee.
