Abia Speaker Attends Burial of Mama Comfort Chigbu, Late Mother of Hon David Monday Chigbu

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji MNSE, on Thursday attended the burial of Late Mama Deaconess Comfort Evelyn Monday Chigbu, mother of Hon David Monday Chigbu, Vice Chairman/Zonal Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia South Senatorial District, and former Commissioner for Sports in Abia State.

The funeral ceremony which held at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Aba Headquarters, had in attendance political leaders in Abia South Senatorial District and the State at large including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Speaking at the funeral service, the Speaker said “No death is easy”

Continuing, he said, “We have come today to show solidarity to our Zonal Chairman of the Party, a man who has worked tirelessly for the Party in this Zone, on the occasion of the sad loss of his mother.

“I Plead with members of this family to take heart and be consoled by the fact that mama lived a life worthy of emulation even up to the age of 80”, assuring them of his support always.

The Speaker was accompanied to the funeral ceremony by the Majority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Solomon Akpulonu, Deputy Leader, Hon Paul Taribo, the Lawmaker representing Obingwa West State Constituency, Hon Barr Thomas Nkoro, Lawmaker representing Aba North State Constituency, Hon Aaron Uzosike, Lawmaker representing Ukwa West State Constituency, Hon Godwin Adiele, Lawmaker representing Ugwunagbo State Constituency, Hon Munachim Alozie, the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Cosmos Ndukwe, Hon Udo Alozie, among other top dignitaries.
