Onitsha Inferno; Address Safety Standards In Nigeria – Buhari Directs
Following the fire outbreak at Ochanja market in Onitsha yesterday, the President, Muhammadu Buhari has expressed regret over victims of the fire and called for immediate curb to prevent such accident from happening.
Following the fire outbreak at Ochanja market in Onitsha yesterday, the President, Muhammadu Buhari has expressed regret over victims of the fire and called for immediate curb to prevent such accident from happening.

He said this through his Twitter page and directed the Ministry of Transportation and other stakeholders to urgently address the issue of safety in Nigeria.
He also added that the sight of the charred remains of an innocent mother and child touched him and would never wish that on anybody.
Recall that yesterday, a petroleum tanker exploded in Onitsha at upper iweka road which drastically extended to Onitsha and killed many people as well as burnt down many shops.
May the souls of the victims rest in peace.
