Equity: Concerned Abian Writes Governor Ikpeazu

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY DR. OKEZIE IKPEAZU, ON THE NEED TO ENSURE THAT EQUITY RULES IN BENDE LOCAL GOVT AREA.

His Excellency Sir,

THE PEOPLE OF BENDE WARD COMES TO EQUITY WITH AN OPEN MIND.

Sir, I wirte to you as a concerned citizen of Bende ward and a protagonist cum equity enthusiast.
I pray this my humble letter meets your good office in good stead.

For the records, this letter is coming on the heels of my similar open letter to all leaders of thought from Bende extraction on the need for us to practice what we preach on equity and good conscience titled “IF WE BELIEVE IN EQUITY DONT WE THINK WHAT IS SAUCE FOR THE GOOSE SHOULD ALSO SAUCE FOR THE GANDER?”.

Sir, in the said open letter, I underscored the imperativeness of our people avoiding a possible implosion of the existing brotherly co-existence in Ikwuisi. If my memory serves me right, I told them of the Igbo adage that when two brothers fights themselves to death over a matter, a stranger eventually profits out of their foolishness.

As a goof student of history, I took a walk back into time and discovered that as equity personified “Okezuo Abia” nobody stands in a better stead to bring succour to our agitation other than your very self.
Within Bende South, the following persons have occupied this very office in diecuss:
1. Chief Ibeji G.O. – Uzuakoli
2. Chief Maduekwe S. O. – Ozuitem
3. Chief P. C. MBA – Umuhuezechi
4. Chief F. M. Okite – Umuimenyi
5. Hon Emenike Okoroafor – Itumbauzo
6. Where is Bende ward?

His Excellency it will interest you to know that on the 7th of July, 2018 at the residence of the former Secretary to the State Govt(SSG), Dr Eme Okoro in Ozuitem an accord was struck that resulted in the emergence of the State House of Assembly flag-bearer of the party from Uzuakoli with an understanding that Bende ward should patiently wait for Local Govt election.

Dear Sir, with the forebearing in mind as the number one leader of the party by virtue of your position as the number one citizen of the state, I implore you to kindly use your good office to intervene and avert the looming intra party criss in Ikwuisi.
The saying that a stitch in time saves nigh can’t be more apt than in this regard, as what is sauce for Tom and Jerry should also be good for their brother Harry.

If we all believe that it’s the turn of Bende South, then methink it’s due for Bende Ward to take a shot on the position of Executive Chairmanship of Bende Local Govt Area.

On this Aburi we stand as a people!
Let me not belabour you with too much literature because I know that you are a very busy man.

Long live Your Excellency,
Long live Bende LGA,
Long live Abia State.

Yours faithfully,
Janny Lily.
