Gov. Ikpeazu Directs Ministry to Commence Payment Of Salaries to Civil Servants
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the State Ministry of Finance led by Dr Aham Uko to commence payment of civil servants and verified pensioners.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the State Ministry of Finance led by Dr Aham Uko to commence payment of civil servants and verified pensioners.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Information, Abia State, Chief John Okiyi Kalu who stated that the payment will be for pensioners who has concluded the verification exercise from Friday 27th March to latest Monday 30th March 2020.
The statement also reads, “This compassionate directive is aimed at ensuring that workers and verified pensioners have money to stock up food in the event of a lockdown in the state.”

Gov. Ikpeazu also directed that the verification exercise for pensioners should end by Friday 27th March 2020.
The Governor also mandated the Inter-ministerial Committee on Coronavirus to commence issuance of daily updates to citizens till further notice.
