Boko Haram: ‘We Are Being Sent To Die’ – Nigerian Soldiers Laments

In a viral video, Nigerian soldiers who are at the front line of the fight against Boko Haram have lamented about the challenges that they face.

In the video, the army General stated that his men are not running away even though some are wounded, starved and hanging on to their life, they still want to protect the country from bandits.

The video repeated the anguish that they face in the front line and the help that they need in fighting the insurgency.

Another person narrated his encounter with a Nigerian soldier, “A few days ago, I was chauffeured by a soldier just back from the war front. He told me plainly, “we are being sent to die. We pin the enemy down and get set to take them out, only to receive signals to withdraw. You can hardly see a soldier with a rifle and a pistol as back up”

“He lamented the dismantling of the Joint Multinational Task Force, questioning the motive, seeing how the Task Force was super successful and the commanders were not taking directives from Nigerian command Centre. Said so much, I began to record. As an afterthought, I deleted.”

Many people have frowned at this treatment of our military and wondered what else is not made public by the federal government in this fight against Boko Haram.
