Outrageous! EFCC Shuts Down Star Shawarma Outlet Over N1500

The officials of Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has shut down a shawarma outlet in Makurdi in Benue State over N1500 shawarma.

According to the viral video, an official of the EFCC ordered a shawarma from the outlet which was N1500 but paid N1600 mistakenly.

The manager kept waiting for her alert as it was N1500 and even when she saw N1600 thought it was paid by another customer and continued calling the official to remind her of her outstanding order.

When she kept insisting that she has paid, they had to go to the bank for a bank statement and found out she actually paid N1600 mistakenly.

They called back to apologize for the error but she swore to deal with them and made true her promise when she sent some of her colleagues to shut down the place.

In Makurdi, @officialEFCC brought armed men and arrested the owner of Star Shawarma over a transaction of N1600(one thousand six hundred Naira).
A staff of EFCC made a purchase and transferred the amount but it wasn’t seen on time. She now used her powers to shut down the eatery. This is a case of abuse of powers.

The CEO and all the staff of Star Shawarma were arrested and forcefully dragged to detention at the EFCC office in Makurdi. Because of N1600. Does this mean @officialEFCC has become idle?’

This is very shocking as EFCC goes after criminals with fraudulent activities and does not engage in a personal vendetta.
