Abia COVID-19: Ensure Strict Compliance in Public Gathering – ABSG Warns TC Chairmen

Abia State Government has warned all the TC chairman of the 17 local government to ensure strict compliance in public gatherings.

The Secretary to Abia State Government/
Chairman, Inter-Ministerial Committee on Covid-19, Barr. Chris Ezem said this in a press release made available to pressmen.

The government also reminded motor parks to provide constant running water and sanitizer in their motor parks.

The statement reads below;

Following current observation on religious worship, burials, weddings and public gatherings, Government hereby directs all TC Chairmen of the 17 Local Government to ensure full, strict and total compliance to all existing covid-19 protocols and regulations including compulsory wearing of face masks. Any Local Government found in contravention of same will be sanctioned.

On the other hand, Government directs all motor park associations in the State to constantly provide running water and hand sanitizers at their parks as well as ensure that passengers wear face masks at all times.

Finally, Abians are reminded that wearing of face masks in the State is not only compulsory but an order enforceable by State and Local Government Enforcement teams, and violators will be prosecuted before the Mobile courts already in operation in the State.
