He thanked him especially for his support towards completion of the recreational facilities.

He said the 34 Artillery Brigade has, in line with its resolve to promote civil-military relations, renovated classroom blocks in two primary schools in Amakohia, Ubi, Owerri West Local Government Area and has gone further to build the recreational facilities which will serve both military personnel and civilians within the host community.

Earlier, Commander 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, General Yusuf Ibrahim Tukura listed some of the recreational facilities to include; the Nigerian army Officers Mess chalet, the warrant officers and Sergeants’ mess chalet, and all soldiers’ mess chalet.

He said one of the problems of the barrack had been lack of accommodation which compelled them to embark on erecting befitting accommodation for officers and men of the Brigade.

He said the funds helped to raise the buildings to lintel level before they solicited the support of the state government which immediately released funds that helped in the completion of the project.
