Ikpeazu Deploys Modern Technology in Police System to Curb Crime

To further ensure the protection of lives and properties, Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has approved the deployment of modern technology in the Police security systems.

This, he revealed, at the flag off of the training of selected members of the Nigerian Police Force to drive the new initiative called Crime Prevention and Management System.

Dr Okezie stated that CPAMS will be connected to the offices of the CP, the AIG and the IGP.

He wrote, “In a bid to strengthen our fight against crime in Abia State, I have approved the deployment of modern technology in our security system. To this end, we flagged off the training of select members of the Nigerian Police Force to drive the new initiative code named CPAMS (Crime Prevention and Management System).

All the police posts in Abia will henceforth be linked online real-time and connected directly to the CP, the AIG and the IGP’s offices. The system which will help in crime prevention and intelligence will feature among other things the bio data, fingerprints and other vital information of all suspects.

The relevance of this initiative cannot be overemphasized and the IGP is expected to officially herald it before the end of November 2020. This is in furtherance to our earlier steps taken to continuously improve security of lives & property in the State. Such steps include a new Zonal Police HQ we built for the Force in Umuahia & additional 20 new vehicles we are procuring this week for the various security agencies in the State.”
