Youth Empowerment/Road Maintenance: Ikpeazu to Recruit Abia Civil Engineers
The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is set to recruit a team of fresh civil engineering graduates to tackle the problem of youth empowerment and road maintenance.
The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is set to recruit a team of fresh civil engineering graduates to tackle the problem of youth empowerment and road maintenance.

According to a Tweet by the Governor on Saturday, the recruited youths will undergo training in the State’s Ministry of Works and thereafter, will be committed to maintaining road projects across the 17 local government area in the State.
Ikpeazu also revealed that the team will be equipped to enable them work even at night and called on Abia youths to apply for the position before 30th of November through the Ministry of Works.
Ikpeazu wrote, “In Abia, we since recognised the need to tackle the twin problems of youth empowerment & sustainable road maintenance anchored on the ingenuity & commitment of Abia youths across the 17 LGAs. In the 1st phase, we’re recruiting a team of fresh civil engineering graduates to head the various LG Road Maintenance Agencies.
Each team will undergo tutelage under the engineers of our state ministry of works & will be equipped with the necessary tools including asphalt cutters, rollers, duty trucks & power packs to support night operations.
I hereby call on qualified Abia youths: engineers, surveyors, and those in other related disciplines, to apply for the openings through the ministry of works between now & the 30th of November! Umu Abia let’s do it ourselves!!!”
