#EndSARS: Police Nabs Suspect Who Stole Police Rifle

Police operatives from Benin city in Edo State have arrested a suspect identified as Sunday Effiong was arrested while two of his gang members were killed in the operation.

It was gathered that Sunday was among those who stole police guns at Oba market police station, Benin city on the 19th of October, 2020 and sold to a cow rearer for N180,000.

It was further revealed by Sunday that it was stolen during the #endsars protest. He also stated that he got the connection for the job from a certain doctor, Dr Osu, who also did in the operation.

Confirming the incident, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, stated that he wants to make sure that people of Edo State can sleep with their two eyes closed.

Items recovered from him include two locally made pistols, cartridges and mobile phones.
