Imo govt solicits support of Union Bank in developmental projects

Imo State Government has solicited the support of the Union Bank in its developmental programmes.

The governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma made this appeal while receiving some educational and Covid 19 preventive materials from the management of branch of the bank at the state government house, Owerri.

The governor who was represented by the Chief of staff, Barr Nnamdi Anyaehie pointed out that union bank is one of the foremost banks in Nigeria that have stood the test of time and appreciated the bank management for the gesture and lauded the relationship between the bank and the state government while expressing optimism that it will be taken to a greater height.

“We also look up to you in furtherance to your corporate social responsibility, to do more for Imo State like you have been doing in other states across the country. As a government, we continue to pray to God to grant us the resources to execute all the projects we have embarked upon.

“Anyhow you can come in to further assist government we will appreciate it”.

Earlier while disclosing the purpose for their visit, the Commercial Banking Manager, South of Union Bank, Rosemary Evidetim said the gesture was in support of efforts of the state government in the fight against Covid 19 and also in line with the effort to improve education in the state.

She said it was also an appreciation for the support the bank has been receiving from the state government.

She listed the items as follows; fifteen thousand (15,000) exercise books, one hundred and seventy-five (175) pieces of hand sanitizers, two hundred and twenty-five (225) pieces of soap and three hundred (300) handwashing buckets.
