The Presidential Task Force has stated that there were no plans to lock down the country over the second phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking through a press release made available by the Director of information, Willie Bassey on Thursday, he disclosed that the information about a second lockdown making wave on social media is false.
Part of the press release reads, “The PTF wishes to state categorically that there is no such consideration at any of its meetings nor has any recommendation been made to this effect to the President.

The PTF frowns at such unpatriotic mis-information which is capable of causing unnecessary panic and anxiety among the populace.”
The PTF also urged Nigerians to join hand to curtail the spread of the virus by adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines.
“It urges Nigerians to disregard the misinformation and join hands with the Federal Government to contain the spread of the virus in the country by adhering to Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPI’s) as recommended by the PTF.”
