An Apc stalwart from Ukwa West LGA, Engr Uruakpa Chinwendu Sterling has applauded the appointment of Dr Mrs Uzoma Emenike by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as an Ambassador to the US.
The young and vibrant politician explained to the newsmen that the appointment is a well deserved one having been given to a woman who is adept at the task required for the job.
Engr Uruakpa emphasised that the President specifically said through his media aid (Garba Shehu) when she (Dr. Emenike) was renominated as a Non-Career Ambassador, that the renewal of the appointments of 11 Career Ambassadors of which Dr Uzoma Emenike was among, followed a performance evaluation, which necessitated an approval for their continuation in office of the ambassadors.
Uruakpa said that the statement from the President gladdens their hearts having seen that the statement came as a result of the hard work she has put in place and which has earned her such recognition and respect from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He used the opportunity and pointed out that she should continue in her good works by strengthening the Nigerian bilateral relationship with the United States.
Dr Mrs Emenike was the Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland/Iceland before the current appointment.
