Man Run Amok, Hack Wife and Daughter to Death

A 28-year-old man identified as Chukwuemeka Obijofa has been arrested by police operatives attached to Ozubulu Police Station for allegedly killing his wife and child in Anambra State.

It was gathered that Chukwuemeka, who hails from Ofufe Nza village in Ekwusigo LGA of the State ran amok and attacked his wife his 26-year-old wife Chisom Chukwuemeka and 4-year-old daughter Amanda Chukwuemeka with a shovel.

Confirming the incident, the Police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, revealed that Obijofa hit the shovel on the head of the victims and used the same object on vigilante personnel who tried to rescue the victims.

Police operatives rushed the victims to the Joint hospital in Ozubulu for medical care where the two victims were certified dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the wounded vigilante is responding to treatment, while the corpses of the victims were deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.

Also, the case has been transferred to the State CID, Awka for investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police, John B.Abang, FDC.
