Ex-Service Chiefs Served Nigeria to the Best of their Ability – Lawan Says as Senate Confirms their Nomination

Senate President Ahmed Lawan has said that the ex-service chiefs served the country to the best of their ability.

He said this on Tuesday at the plenary session of the legislatures as the Senate confirms the nomination of the ex-service chiefs as non-career ambassadors.

He further appealed that they use their knowledge of the military to the best.

The official handle of the senate wrote,

“The Nomination of General Abayomi G. Olonisakin (Rtd) is CONFIRMED as Non-Career Ambassador.

The Nomination of Lt. General Tukur Y. Buratai (Rtd) is CONFIRMED as Non-Career Ambassador.

The Nomination of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete E. Ibas (Rtd) is CONFIRMED as Non-Career Ambassador.

The Nomination of Air Marshal Sadique B. Abubakar (Rtd) is CONFIRMED as Non-Career Ambassador.

The Nomination of Air Vice Marshal Muhammad S. Usman (Rtd) is CONFIRMED as Non-Career Ambassador.

“These nominees that we have just confirmed are nominees that have served this country to the best of their ability. Our appeal to the Executive is to make sure they use their experiences as military men to the best.”

“We wish them a very successful career in their capacity as Non-Career Ambassadors”- Ahmed Lawan.”
