The Chairman Abia state Council of Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Uchenna Obigwe has been removed as the Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) Abia state chapter.

In a memo signed by the National General Secretary, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja Esq and made available to Abia PulseNews, the development is a follow up to the decision of the National Executive Council who met on 17th of February 2021 in Abuja where the decision of his removal was reached.
Comrade Uchenna Obigwe who retired from Abia state civil service was accused of misleading the delegates and the Nigerian Labour family in Abia during the last state Congress to emerge as the chairman after his tenure expired.
He alleged that the national body offered him employment which gave room for him to be eligible to contest for the number one Labour officer in Abia.
According to sources around the former NLC boss, he would be challenging the decision of the national body which confirmed his removal from office in court.
The Abia State Chairman of National Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Comrade Eze Idimah who came 2nd in the election that produced Obidigwe has been sworn in as the substantive state chairman following the development.
