Aba North/South Election: Ikpeazu, Chinedum Orji, Others Storm Aba in Mega Rally

In preparation for the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency bye-election scheduled for March 27, 2021, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its mega rally today at Etche Road Field, Aba, with the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, the Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, the State party chairman, Rt Hon Allwell Asiforo among other party leaders, stalwarts, stakeholders, members and supporters storming the venue amidst glitz and glamour to campaign for the party’s candidate, Hon Chimaobi Ebisike.

While speaking and handing the party flag over to Ebisike, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu recalled the several achievements of his government some of which he described as both audacious and unprecedented. As the Governor was mentioning some of the roads and other projects completed by his administration, he was greeted with loud cheers and long applause intermittently punctuated by songs of praise to God from the mammoth crowd.

Ikpeazu who appreciated the people for attending the rally in their numbers told the people that PDP has proven to be the only Party with the genuine interest of the people at heart, urging them to also come out en masse on March 27 to cast their votes for Chimaobi Ebisike and remain vigilant by protecting their votes from the point of voting to that of collating and the announcement of the results.

“Let everyone come out on that day and vote. Don’t sit at home and if we do come out to vote the way we have come out for this rally, I assure you PDP will win”, the Governor assured.

Turning to Chimaobi Ebisike, Governor Ikpeazu said, “Just like the Speaker said, don’t worry too much about caterpillar matters, leave that to me, I am handling it and I will continue to do it, just take care of these people”, he said.

Earlier, speaker after speaker at the event extolled the performance of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu which they described as excellent saying it is a pointer to the quality representation Ebisike will give the people of Aba North/Aba South at the House of Representatives when he is finally elected by the people on March 27.

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji described Ebisike as “a young man who will not disappoint the youths but carry them along.

“He is one of you”, the Speaker said. “He is from among you; he is somebody I know well and he is somebody you know very well; he will always return to you; he will take care of you; he will not abandon you”, the Speaker said.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji reminded the electorates that a vote for Ebisike is a vote of confidence in Governor Ikpeazu for all that he has been doing for the state and urged them not to disappoint him.

Raising Ebisike’s hand, the Speaker said, “Today, you have entered an agreement with the people that you will not abandon them and that you will take care of them”, to which Ebisike answered in the affirmative while the crowd erupted in jubilation shouting “Agreement is an agreement!”

The Deputy Governor, Rt Hon Ude Oko Chukwu, the State PDP chairman, Rt Hon Allwell Asiforo, Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, Majority Leader, Barr Solomon Akpulonu, Member representing Aba North State Constituency, Hon Aaron Uzodike, Member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Hon Ginger Onwusibe among others urged the people to come out on the day of the election and deliver the PDP as a show of appreciation to all that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has done for the city of Aba.

In his speech, Chimaobi Ebisike promised to follow in the footsteps of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in his leadership attributes by providing quality representation for the people of his constituency when elected into the House of Representatives urging the people to guard their votes and ensure they are not tampered with.

“With God on our side, victory is sure”, he concluded.
