To push back against Boko Haram and Islam in West Africa, President Muhammadu Buhari and Mahamadou Issoufou, President of Niger Republic, has agreed to strengthen sub-regional security.

Speaking on Tuesday at the State House, Buhari stated assertiveness of ISWA in the sub-Sahara and Sahel regions was worrisome.

Recall that 137 persons were killed recently in a terrorist attack in the Niger Republic.

He said, “Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of victims and people of Niger Republic. Nigeria stands with all her neighbours in the fight against terrorism.”
