Students of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia State shut down the school over an unconducive learning environment.
The students, on Tuesday, carrying a placard which read ‘No light, No more acceptance developmental fee’ shut down the school main entrance which put activities in the school to a stop.
Maintaining anonymity, the students revealed that they study in dark classrooms, sleep in dark hostels and cannot study at night due to the darkness of the school.

They complained that the management of the school was not taking their demands seriously as they have ignored every avenue to hearken to the cries of the students.

Meanwhile, lectures and other non-academic duties were crippled over the protest.
