Breaking News: Kidnapped Catholic Priest Regains Freedom
A Catholic priest of Umuahia, Abia State, Rev Fr. Mark Chimezie Godfrey kidnapped by unknown persons have remained freedom after ten days in captivity.
A Catholic priest of Umuahia, Abia State, Rev Fr. Mark Chimezie Godfrey kidnapped by unknown persons have remained freedom after ten days in captivity.

This was revealed in a statement signed by the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Bishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji on Saturday.
Fr Chimezie who hails from Enugu State and was ordained a priest early this year was kidnapped from St Theresa’s Parish, Umuahia on the 13th of October, 2021 at Enyiukwu Road Ohokobe Afaraukwu Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to eye witnesses, the kidnappers intercepted the clergy who had just concluded a morning mass at St Gabriel, Okpururie Afaraukwu, and forced him out of his Toyota Corolla into their jeep and sped away.
