Just a day after the attack on a prison in Jos, Plateau State, bandits have kidnapped some travellers along Kaduna-Abuja road on Monday afternoon.

According to reports, the bandits operated freely between Akilbu and Rijana villages freely as the roads were deserted with no sight of security operatives.
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani wrote, “Some travellers have been kidnapped along kaduna Abuja road an hour ago. The Bandits operated between Akilbu and Rijana villages unchallenged. The road is deserted.”
Meanwhile, troops of the Nigerian Army have killed several bandits terrorizing travellers, on the Abuja-Kaduna road after President Muhammadu Buhari ordered increased surveillance on the road due to the abduction of travellers last week.
The Nigerian military chased down the bandits to Kaduna forests where they were eliminated including the leader of the gang who is said to be responsible for the death of a former governorship aspirant in Zamfara State, Alhaji Hamidu Sigir.
