The Akere Spare Parts market at Kirikiri road in Ajegunle, Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State has been burnt down by unknown people in the early hours of Wednesday.

The market which is allegedly dominated by Igbos living in the cosmopolitan city was attacked and a security man was allegedly killed.
It was also gathered that the Apapa Olodi market was also set ablaze by the arsonists.

Meanwhile, in the build-up to the March 11 election, there have been smear campaigns between Igbos living in Lagos and their hosts, the Yorubas.

While some campaign placards of the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have read ‘my Lagos, not your Lagos,’ others have openly called on the Igbos living in the city to evacuate the State.
However, all the candidates vying for the Gubernatorial election in the State are Yorubas.
